1. Jabra Evolve2 75: best for busy open offices

The Evolve2 75 is an on-ear stereo headset with 40 mm speakers and eight microphones, four of which run its Advanced ANC. A HearThrough button lets in outside sound without taking the headset off, and the microphone boom flips up out of the way. Its busylight turns on during calls to signal “do not disturb.”

  • Platforms: Jabra sells a Microsoft Teams certified version and a UC version certified for Google Meet and Zoom . Both links are the USB-A adapter versions.
  • Connection: a USB-A or USB-C Bluetooth adapter, or Bluetooth 5.2 directly, with up to 30 m (100 ft) of range. It stays connected to two devices at once and remembers up to eight.
  • Battery: up to 25 hours of talk time with ANC and the busylight off, or 18 hours with both on; up to 36 hours of music with ANC off.
  • Weight: 197 g (6.9 oz) for the stereo version. Jabra’s warranty is 2 years.

Trade-offs: It’s the heaviest wireless pick here, and a full charge takes up to 160 minutes.

2. Jabra Evolve2 65 Flex: best for hybrid work and travel

The Evolve2 65 Flex has a hinged headband that folds flat into its carry pouch. Jabra pairs hybrid ANC with ClearVoice noise-canceling microphones, 28 mm speakers and a 360-degree busylight, and lifting the boom arm mutes a call. At 136 g (4.8 oz) for the stereo version, it’s the lightest Jabra here.

  • Platforms: a version optimized for Microsoft Teams and a UC-certified version . Jabra lists Zoom Rooms and Google Meet among its certifications.
  • Connection: a USB-A or USB-C Bluetooth adapter, or Bluetooth 5.2, with up to 30 m (100 ft) of range and two simultaneous connections, such as a computer and a phone. Jabra says it works with Mac and PC.
  • Battery: up to 20 hours of talk time with ANC and the busylight off, or 15 hours with both on. It charges over USB-C and supports wireless charging; the charging pad comes with some versions only.
  • Warranty: 2 years.

Trade-offs: Its talk time is shorter than the Evolve2 75’s, and Jabra sells the charging stand separately.

3. Logitech Zone Wired 2: best wired headset with noise canceling

Zone Wired 2 brings adaptive hybrid ANC to a USB headset, so there’s no battery to charge. Logitech says its two noise-canceling mics use AI-based algorithms to suppress sounds like keyboard clicks and nearby voices. The mic boom flips 270 degrees, so you can wear it on either side.

  • Connection: a 1.9 m (6.23 ft) USB-C cable with a USB-A adapter in the box. Logitech lists Windows, macOS and ChromeOS computers.
  • Audio: 40 mm drivers. Logitech lists G616 compliance for acoustic shock protection and ADA hearing aid compatibility.
  • Software: the Logi Tune app for Windows and macOS adjusts sidetone, mic level, EQ and ANC modes.
  • Upkeep: the earpads and headband strap swap out without tools.
  • Weight: 223.5 g (7.88 oz).

Trade-offs: It’s tethered to the computer, and this standard version isn’t listed as Teams certified. It’s also the heaviest headset here.

4. Logitech Zone 300: best lightweight Bluetooth headset

The Zone 300 weighs 122 g (4.3 oz), the lightest pick here, and puts two noise-canceling microphones on an extended boom. It connects by Bluetooth 5.3, pairs with up to six devices and stays connected to two at once, so you can move between a laptop and a phone.

  • Battery: up to 16 hours of talk time or 20 hours of listening. A full charge takes 2 hours, and Logitech says a 5-minute quick charge gives up to 1 hour of talk time.
  • Range: up to 30 m in open line of sight.
  • Compatibility: Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, Android, iOS and iPadOS over Bluetooth; certified Works With Chromebook.

Trade-offs: Logitech doesn’t list active noise cancellation, and this version has no USB receiver in the box; Logitech sells a version with one. It isn’t listed as Teams or Zoom certified.

5. Logitech H390: best low-cost USB headset

The H390 is a plug-in USB-A headset with a noise-canceling mic on a rotating boom that tucks away, and inline controls on the cable for volume and mute. It has 30 mm drivers, swivel-mounted leatherette ear cushions and a 1.9 m cable.

  • Compatibility: Windows, macOS and ChromeOS; certified Works With Chromebook.
  • Compliance: Logitech says it’s TAA compliant for government and regulated workplaces.
  • Weight: 197 g (6.95 oz).

Trade-offs: It has one microphone, Logitech doesn’t list active noise cancellation, and the mic sits on the left side only. Logitech also sells a USB-C version, so check the plug before buying.

How to choose a headset for work calls

  1. Check your meeting platform. If your company runs on Microsoft Teams, Jabra’s Teams versions of the Evolve2 75 and 65 Flex are certified for it. For Zoom and Google Meet, Jabra certifies the UC Evolve2 75 and lists Zoom Rooms and Google Meet certifications for the Evolve2 65 Flex.
  2. Decide on wired or wireless. Wired USB headsets (Zone Wired 2, H390) never need charging. Wireless models let you stand up and move, with up to 30 m of rated range.
  3. Match noise control to the room. In a loud open office, the Evolve2 75, Evolve2 65 Flex and Zone Wired 2 add active noise cancellation. The Zone 300 and H390 focus on noise-canceling microphones for your voice.
  4. Count your devices. The Evolve2 75, Evolve2 65 Flex and Zone 300 stay connected to two devices at once, such as a laptop and a phone.
  5. Weigh comfort for long days. Listed weights run from 122 g (Zone 300) to 223.5 g (Zone Wired 2).
